Full review linked above. Full New Beer Weekend #241 treatment linked here. WBAYDN treatment, this is a very good BA stout. Really like the base, like the bourbon at times. The luxurious mouthfeel is my primary takeaway. Two changes would be bring back the honey to the Eclipse series and lose the waxed bottles, though do prefer 16.9 oz vs. IIRC the 22 oz format.

 

This is the 3rd G.O.A.T and always a little better than average. Cheers all.

Sumo is the only sport I watch on TV, when I happen to stumble across it - when I was a kid, I wanted to be a Sumo wrestler. And I like chocolate and coffee, so this seemed like a natural for me. Oh LIFE.

Final impression and summation: 4 Cocoa comes through, but the coffee and vanilla seem to have faded away – I expected bolder flavors, particularly from the coffee. This is very easy drinking, almost a lawnmower beer, but probably not a good idea at the ABV.

BAT cross-post. Central Waters Brewing 4-Year-Aged Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Barleywine. This is excellent. The 4-year-aged edition of this annual series of barrel-aged barleywines has often been the sweet spot.

Storm Watch from Small Pony Barrel Works

Overall an interesting moderately sour Wild Ale. As a play on the Dark and Stormy cocktail it works quite well.

 

Yeah, I'll be there... (I think) albeit briefly tonight. Had a bit of a humdinger evening last night with some friends and not sure I'll be able to keep up tonight. Cheers!

Founders KBS Double Oaked (Imperial Stout brewed with chocolate and coffee, aged in bourbon barrels, and then aged on fresh oak). Big charred oak, coffee, bourbon spirit, vanillin, plenty of bakers chocolate, slight caramel, dark chocolate fudge. A solid variant.
