Probably, might be living the past & thinking there is still one near Morganton. I tend to live in the past

Marshall Brewing Co.2021 Stranahan's BA Black Dolphin Imperial Stout 2021, 8.5% ABV; 4.07 overall

Pours a chestnut/mahogany color with a pinky of tan head. Zero head retention
    & lacing

    S: Dark & fruit & barrel

T: Follows the nose, figs, dark cherries, leafy hops, barrel rawness up front, hints of port wine, plus dryness. Plums, figs, & brown sugar & rum once this beer warms up. Finishes with cola & brown sugar notes, some barrel notes & some figs

MF: Medium body, subtle carbonation, warming

Nice offering, wish I'd had it fresher, very drinkable. I feel I could pound this all night

You are correct, never been to that location. Have a great time.

It' been a very busy weekend. Luckily, I did have some fun amidst all of it...Got to hang with our very own @snaotheus last night.
Yes, imbibing occurred. We hit this one together. Wow.

    To The Point

Deep leather to mahogany in hue. Sandy head is gently fluffy and leaves slight, layered lacing.
Nose abounds with dates, figs, caramel, toffee, and some warm, sweet boozy notes.
Flavor goes a bit further into the deeper sweet notes, but not overly so. The whiskey notes also hint at char and some fruity wood barrel.
Mouthfeel is a tad hefty for a barleywine, but in a really good way.
Overall, this is a big barleywine.

Ha! Look at that drunken degenerate! You're a magnanimous and big-hearted man for putting up with that doofus.

Good evening all! Been a long day and likely won’t be drinking one tonight as something I ate today is not happy. However, the amazing @beergoot was kind enough to not only have me over for a weekly zoom meeting *and* he gave me tasty beer. This is just one of them-

I intend to pick up a 4 or 6 pack of these as they are excellent for the style. Drinks like a foreign export- they crammed a lot of malts into this, if they ever made an imperial version I would be very interested in trying it.
Thanks Dave for a great evening and really good beer!

...they do list as a 'foreign stout', and I agree it drinks like a well-crafted foreign export stout...it was great having you over (again) last night...hopefully we'll knock back a few more beers before you head back home...:beers:

Fegley's Bethlehem Brew Works - Pilsner Nocturno
A Collaboration with Bonn Place Brewing Co. This is a very unique beer - a "Black Italian Style Pilsner". It's very tasty. Has Black IPA hop characteristics along with a nice roasty, coffee finish. Very easy to drink, even refreshing, and somewhat complex.

    Notes:
    P black w/ a small tan cap
N med to med bold licorice, roast, choc, anise, really nice, more booze character as it warms
T deep roast, licorice, dark choc, a bit muddled at first, restrained sweetness, dry-ish barrel finish, light nuttiness as it warms, subtle bourbon notes, not too shabby
Mf med to med-full bodied, med carb, chewy, yet has a slight creaminess
O great nose; profile reminds me of abyss in a way; was just a touch underwhelming though- was hoping for a bit more oomph, so to speak

    Cheers!
