Thanks to snaotheus for sharing this one.
Deep leather to mahogany in hue. Sandy head is gently fluffy and leaves slight, layered lacing.
Nose abounds with dates, figs, caramel, toffee, and some warm, sweet boozy notes.
Flavor goes a bit further into the deeper sweet notes, but not overly so. The whiskey notes also hint at char and some fruity wood barrel.
Mouthfeel is a tad hefty for a barleywine, but in a really good way.
Overall, this is a big barleywine. Thanks for sharing Ryan.

This bottle is 2 years old and it's almost all about the butterscotch and caramel right now. Loving it. The barrel notes are silky smooth and so damn satisfying. There are some subtitles to be found as well, peach pixie sticks, raisins, and a little vanilla. Thanks Ryan, this is a wonderful beer.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a medium to dark orange-red with a thin light khaki head that dissipates to a thin film with slight lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, whiskey, dates, raisins, plums; faint woody oak. Flavor is dry caramel malt, whiskey, dates, raisins, toffee and a hint of chocolate; lingering toffee and whiskey. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A flavorful whiskey barrel English style barleywine. Has all the dark fruit and caramel character I want in this style. The whiskey is a clear note, but well balanced. A little sweet and still quite hot, but enjoyable. Pleasant boozy caramel finish. Nicely done. The heat really makes this seem appropriate for a Hard Liver Festival. Nicely done. I picked up a second as a promising cellarable barleywine.

One of our favorite bars sponsoring one of our favorite styles? Yes please! Medium brown body, kahki head. Smells of big whiskey soaked date, molasses, barley, toasty oak, charred earth, and toasted caramel. Taste is led by barley and whiskey, molasses, dry yeast, boozy date and prune, with finishing anise and licorice with more boozy whiskey and a hint of vanilla. Feel is boozy and old school, dry with an earthy bite though booze does add up over time. The wife liked it

Excited to try this one! Poured at fridge temp. Pours dark brown with zero head. Murky. The nose is insane. Big toffee and bourbon. A hint of grapefruit, along with notes of plums, raisins, peaches, vanilla, and oak. Just lovely.

The taste is fantastic. Werther's caramel meets bourbon! Those are definitely the dominant flavors. Secondary flavors include plums, leather, slight citrus peel, and oak. Warming and dry. The barrel definitely gives this a strong boozy presence, but it works great with the base barleywine.

Overall, a fantastic barleywine!
