Back home after a quick trip to Chicago yesterday and today, this is a perfect way to scratch my hop itch.

    Absolutely perfect.

Good aroma, but the flavor is light.

    From a 16oz can. Canned on 10/21/2025

This is a very juicy looking beer in my glass. Hazy and murky for days and a pale golden color. There's a 2 finger white head to the beer that has pretty damn good head retention and a good deal of sticky looking lacing on the glass.
Holy cow, the tropical notes in the aroma are quite pronounced. So much grapefruit, pineapple hitting my nose from the hops. There's also an earthy tone to this beer that is quite pleasing.
The flavor isn't anywhere where the nose led me to. There's a bit of pineapple and grapefruit in the flavor. There's a hint of an earthy grassy flavor, but the flavors seem muted compared to the nose. There's a bit of bitterness in this beer that comes into play in the middle.
The body is quite juicy feeling. There's a good softness to the beer. Smooth to a degree. Bitter feeling lingers.
If the flavor were as strong and pronounced as the nose suggested, this beer would knock my socks off. It is good but that one element is lacking.

I'm stuffed, but trying to make a little room for a short pour of Still Revolutionary Stout at Little House. Listening to my son's sea shanty band.

Time for my Friday culinary duties. What, Friday Fish Day? No Way! Picked Egg and Onions, pickled “Pickle” and Pretzels, of course! Can’t forget the Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen! Livin’ large 1810 style!

Here we have another true-to-form Oktoberfest Märzen. This is the classic style in vogue before the current Festbiers. It’s big, malty and delicious. I’m just glad we can squeeze two of the pathetic little diminutive Euro 11.2 ounce bottles into the mighty Beermeister32 Twenty-Eight ouncer!

Oktoberfest Märzen is a 5.8% ABV brew, it’s filtered and crystal clear, just the way a good Bavarian Märzen should be. Clarity is like non-California air, it’s delicious and perfect in all ways. I’d like to see more of Hacker-Pschorr around SoCal, currently all I could find was this Oktoberfest. Send over some Pilsners too! Prost!
