Hello BAs. I'm enjoying this Destihl ILL-IPA. It's very simple. Get your snow shovels out if you live in Chicago. Cheers!

Yep. Those Midwest snow events can be tricky for driving. Sometimes it's like driving into a wall of shaving cream. Other times when it's freezing rain or icing you might not realize it until it's too late. Thank goodness for beer. A 2nd Destihl ILL-IPA. EZ drinking with nice bitterness in the finish. When I go to Normal I always pick up some brews from these folks but I do see some of their products up here in the Twinkie towns. :beers:

Valmiermuiža Nefiltrēts, right here at Āgenskalna tirgus (market) in Rīga. Delicious as always. Latvia rocks.
I wish this forum was a little more international...

Get this ice and snow out of my city. I blame @Bitterbill for mentioning Fight Club a few weeks ago for the snow, which I spent a lifetime experiencing.

I blame others for the ice.

I'm taking notes because I plan to be there in a few weeks and I want to find some good places for craft beer.

We received the first snow of the winter, and quite a bit of it, over the past 24 hours, out here in McGregor. Today, it's cold and somewhat overcast, although the snow is superbly beautiful, spread out against the backdrop of the evergreens. The snow and cold has Sundae in hibernating mode, but at least Gracie was available to help me check out my three new beers of the day (it should be stated, that yesterday, I added a fourth beer to my usual three-beers-a-day regimen--my fifth beer from Blenheim, Ontario's Red Barn Brewing Co.: their 4.5% La Paja [which means 'The Straw'] Mexican Style Cerveza)...

First for today, my fifth brew from Brasserie McAuslan, of Montreal Quebec--their 6.2% Serie Classique IPA (a 3.75/5, or 75%, for me). It's shown, poured, bookending articles on the cult classics (each of which I enjoy enormously) What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (Robert Aldrich, 1962) and The Wicker Man (Robin Hardy, 1973)...

Next, my fifth of Moosehead Breweries Limited's handiworks, from Saint John, New Brunswick--their 6% James Ready 6.0...

Finally, my third beverage from Nita Beer Company, of Ottawa, Ontario--their 5.5% Mr. Brown Has Gone Coconuts! Flavoured Ale...

All three beers are also shown, bookending articles on the cult classics The Shining (Stanley Kubrick, 1980) and The Thing (John Carpenter, 1982), simply because they're two of my favourite horror movies from the 80's, to be sure...

Tomorrow: Three more new beers for me to contemplate, from the following breweries:
    --Muskoka Brewery (Bracebridge, Ontario; my eighth of their wares);
--Nickel Brook Brewing Co. (Burlington, Ontario; my eleventh); and
--Orleans Brewing Co. (Orleans, Ontario; my fifth)...

Have a great rest of your day--and stay warm! Cheers, from The Responsible Beer Drinking Club! Membership has its privileges! =)

Absolutely ugly day here in Central MA. Cold and raw and rainy. Good time to have a Lunch brewed 6 days ago on 4 Nov 2025. Going to make a cherry pie in a bit.

We were in Green Bay yesterday morning (Micah is an outstanding host) and decided after picking up my parts car near Oconto, WI that we would go through the UP instead of chancing the snow, ice, and post football game traffic in Chicago.
We managed to get home at about 2:30 this morning. But going through Chicago would most certainly been worse.
    Oh, great song choice!

ISIL cross-post. This is an incredible beer. A gift from @Whyteboar, after he and his friend Garth visited me this weekend. This a pre-first date for lunch, then Lambeau Field for the Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers Monday Night Football game with my fraternity brothers. This is going to be quite a Monday. Philadelphia Eagles fans better be ready. It is going to be cold, and an all-day tailgate in Wisconsin is more than I suspect Philadelphia Eagles fans can handle. I am ready for romance and war! Join me in this quest!
