I won't be having Thanksgiving dinner this year as I'm in Verona, Italy, but to be honest I'm more than OK with that! Thanksgiving can sometimes (almost always) be a pain in the ass - or worse! I will have to fly out to Nebraska for Christmas but at least I've got this reprieve. As for beers, however, I'm unfortunately screwed as there are no good beer shops in Verona, and very few beer spots at all. I'll find something though. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!!!

    One suggestion: Valpolicella wine.

    Cheers!

I think the key to the day is THANKSGIVING.
What ever beer you enjoy while being thankful for your blessings is the right beer.
Whether it be a ice cold Pabst or Hamm`s, or a 3 Floyds Dark Lord.
The key is, enjoy the day with friends, family or just by yourself watching the Macy Parade, the Lions /Packer Game, or the Dog Show.
Drink what you enjoy and makes you happy.
Who knows how many Thanksgiving Days you have left.
    Trust me, Life is Short.

Honestly, I'll try just about anything with 25 or less IBUs and is less than 6% ABV (unless the flavor profile seems like something I wouldn't like, but often times specific descriptors that people add to flavor profiles is usually over exaggerated in my experience)

That's why I qualified my observation with "pretty much." There are exceptions to almost every rule. Bad as PBR is, it's certainly not the only brand of insipid, flavorless swill on the planet.

Tried blind, I'm not even sure I could tell them apart (PBR and Hamm's). :sunglasses:

I found this on shelves recently. Looks like a good one to roll with on holidays with lots of eating.

Funny thing - there is no Thanksgiving in France, but Black Friday is an Event.

We will be celebrating though, with an organic rotisserie chicken (stuffed with garlic butter infused sourdough bageutte!).

Chilling in my fridge is a 75 cl bottle of super fresh Brasserie Tandem (France) ‘Coup de Soleil’ DIPA with dinner.
Evening football (7 PM start.,) will see Stout (Gecko Brew Co., France), rum barrel aged English barley wine (Brasserie Hoppycamp, France), and a stash choice.,.

Were those bottles/cans of Black Sheep Best Bitter fresh (i.e., what was the packing date)?

A beer like a Best Bitter is very much better when fresh (optimally 1-2 days after the cask was tapped).

    Cheers!

Ended up having a beer before leaving after all. Cousin's kid had brought a growler of Oktoberfest from Far Gohn. Only poured half a glass after dinner as I was pretty full and knew I still had the drive in a couple of hours, drank half of it and fell asleep watching the Lions-Packers game. Eating a day and a half's worth of calories in one sitting with do that to you.

Home now and enjoying a Celebration.

In my original response I said we were going to open a bottle of Truth I brought back from Saratoga Springs, however mid day at work I decided I want to change it to the beers @beergoot sent me a while back. To Be Continued and The Flammulation Station

Best-by is 07-12-30. Neck band has 2020-2021. ABV 7%. No pop, hiss, or any noise upon removal of cork, but it's not fully still. This is first of this style that I've had so don't fully know what to expect for the carbonation. Dry, tart and barnyard character with background barrel taste. Goes well with turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

I've always thought that a gueuze should be highly carbonated, but due to the blending process, I suppose you're going to get a dud every now and then. So long as you enjoyed it, that's all that matters.

The bottle was corked & caged, plus the label said it is refermented in the bottle, so I was expecting greater carbonation. So it was a dud, but, yeah, there was still some left and I did enjoy the beer.
