How's the 08 Bourbon County drinking? Ive had a few people say its way past its prime and doesn't taste good anymore and a few other people say it's tasting great.

Probably depends on how and where it was stored.

I've got 2, just waiting for the weather to turn a bit to try one

I drank my last for the finale of breaking bad. Still good, but I think it's on the down slope. Would drink it sooner than later

Had one back in March. Thought it was drinking amazingly well.

This was, and still is to my tastes, the best year, with the '09 a close second. The 2012 might get there soon, too.

I had a bottle about a week ago and it's still pretty fucking good. I mean it is 6 years old it's all about how well it was stored at this point. I mean if you stored it in your shed in Phoenix it isn't going to be any good for sure.

Have had it a few times in the last year. I'm with striker and maximum on this. Amazing beer, a must drink if you can score a well aged one.

Had two a few weeks ago, drank one, sent one to a BA friend. Very smooth and creamy, I thought it was fantastic, the bourbon was still there, but any heat was gone.

    It's still amazing.
My all time favorite Bourbon County.
09 is hitting that magic zone as well right now.

We did a tasting of the following Bourbon County's a couple months ago:
Rare, Vanilla, Bramble, Coffee (12 & 13), Cherry Rye, Backyard, Prop, BW, Regular BCBS (08, 09, 12, 13)

For me, 08 & 09 BCBS were tied for the best of show.
Better than Rare, IMO - which I rated 3rd.

Not really a refined palate, but the 09 I had was tremendous, would love to score a bomber.

Does anyone have an idea how hard it would be to acquire an 08'? Really would like to put the bottle in the work bench collection since label was different and seems like enough people think it's still drinking pretty well...Have an 09' bomber and am realy excited to try that btw based on what's been said about it.

I doubt it would be too tough. A limited/local brewery release that's known would probably do it, since this wasn't a 373 bottle stealth release at the brewery...back when it was released, it was all over the place & sat for months. Imagine!

I had a couple 08's over a year ago, and they were phenomenal. Over this past weekend, had an 07 that was drinking better than the 08. The guy who sent me the 08 must not have had the best cellaring practices. It definitely tasted oxidized, where the 07 was drinking where I thought it would.

From what I am reading in this forum, this winter season will probably be the last one to drink the 08 with hopes of an excellent brew.
