Any info on this is appreciated. I'm considering getting a kegerator and I'm wondering about the availability of getting 1/6 barrels. I live in the QC so I know I have access to Bent River etc but how would I go about getting kegs of Oskar Blues or similar larger craft brewers. Can I order them directly through my local Hyvees? Thanks

You should be able to get kegs of anything distributed in your area at local stores. Just tell the liquor manager you are interested and they can see whats available from their distributors. Be sure to give them a few days notice when ordering.

On the IA side of the river, you can possibly get them directly from native brewery tap room as well.

You can theoretically also buy them from anyone (bar or restaurant etc.) with a Class B beer permit, though I don't know how many actually know how to sell them.

I've got kegs from HyVee before. If you go to the wine and spirits dept, they should have a list of all the stuff they can get. It usually takes a few days minimum. There's a wide range of prices, too. Some of the DIPAs are pricey. I think Ruination was like $145 but stuff like Fat Tire was around $75.

Does 515 do that? Because that would be awesome.

Well we COULD do it, we don't have the beer for it just now. I know confluence does though. Not sure who else does.

I was drooling at the thought of having Passe on tap at home.....

Confluence has very reasonable prices for their kegs. Rock Bottom sells kegs as well but I've yet to get one of theirs.
