I’m flying in from Los Angeles next weekend (arrive Monday afternoon) and will be meeting up with some UK buddies for a concert at the Union Chapel (Islington). We don’t have much time before the gig. Maybe 2-3 hours before the concert begins. We are looking for a pub with good food and craft beers. Where ever I travel to I am always looking to drink local craft. Doing a quick search on Google maps there are some mentioned in the area of the venue. One comes to mind, the Famous **** Tavern. There’s also the Brewhouse & Kitchen nearby. Or is there anything else that might be a better choice to visit? Any recommendations is welcomed. Thank you. And IPA’s is a must. Stouts too.

Good news - the Craft Beer Co is in Islington, does decent food (ie posh burgers) and excellent beer. Bad news - it's right at the other end of Islington, so maybe twenty minutes walk.

Brewhouse & Kitchen places I've never been to myself, but the general reaction from beer geeks that I know has been that they aren't much to write home about. Like, not awful but not particularly inspiring either.

Er, I guess that you could go to the Euston Tap (the East Lodge does pizza), have some excellent beers and then hop on a tube up to Highbury & Islington (about five minutes)?
