I guess I haven't been following their whole 6 pack progress but I saw 6 packs of ISA and IPA at my local Fred Meyer last night. Scooped a 6 pack of the ISA and the brew is great! Seems like all those new hires and expansion have helped bring some tasty and more consistent beer to the public. First the Oregon Brown, then this. I'm stoked. Great summer beer.
Has anyone tried the IPA six pack? The recipe is supposed to be improved. Fingers crossed...the 22s weren't that great.
I have been drinking the Apocalypse IPA like water. This actually may be my go-to beer. Every time I say that I am disappointed later. I have bought two 6pks in less than a week. Can anyone provide a link to a recipe change? I thought I read that some where but could not find it. Thanks.
Cool, that's what I was hoping to hear! It was mentioned on their Facebook wall. From April 20: 10 Barrel Brewing Company Here's a full description of the new and improved Apocalyps IPA straight from Jimmy! New Apocalypse IPA- We took the chance to redesign our flagship beer with the opening of new brewing facility. The brew team sat down and took a fresh new look at the beer. The conclusion was to make our IPA all about the hops with no distractions from anything else. With that in mind we paired down the malt bill to highlight the hops; removed the biscuit and added Carapils to enhance the head on the beer with nominal flavor impact. The base hops of Bravo, Amarillo, Cascade, Northern Brewer, and Centennial are the same but the dry hop of Zeus, Northern Brewer, Cascade, and Centennial have be increased by a 100%. On top of his they are let to reside for a longer time at warm temperatures for more impact. The depth of the hop flavor is built on the use of leaf and pellet hops. Couple this with our new state of the art JVNW brew system that creates a more refined, dynamic beer. It is the Apocalypse that everybody knows... but better. I suppose I am in the minority. I still prefer draft version of old. I didn't care much for the old 22oz bottles so I don know what to mak of that disparity. I do think 10 Barrel pours a good pint at their pub and life is usually pretty good when I am just hanging out in Bend. Anyway, for the price point of near $10, it won't be a go-to but I will revisit. Cool they are taking chances.
Djbreezy - Glad to hear they are making their way to Seattle! I asked them via Facebook when I could expect their ISA in the area and they said Summer. Now I'll keep an eye out for them, thanks!
