Just picked up a bottle of this seasonal over the weekend. Eager to try it. Anyone have this brew?

It has Tonya's signature on it so I'm hoping it's a worthy brew.

Did you grab this in Washington, or does my Portland distributor have some 'splainin to do?

Yeah I scooped it at By the Bottle in Vancouver. :)

You guys don't have this yet? That is bizarre.

Sadly, it's par for the course. We also don't have the Widmer Raspberry KGB bottles yet, despite it showing up all over the country in the last couple of weeks.

On an unrelated note, make sure to update this thread when you drink the beer. I'm curious to hear how it is.

I had a growler of this a while back. Really nice.

    Hey Folks,

My bro & I had it at the Pub (in Bend) about 10 days ago. Very hoppy (in a good way) and worth trying. I'll be picking up a bottle when it lands in PDX.

It's very hoppy for a brown ale, I was surprised initially.

Odd. That's frustrating considering both are brewing in OR.

Just cracked the top on this one. It's by far the best bottle I've had from 10 Barrel. I haven't been a fan of the others but I've enjoyed the beers on tap at the brewpub. I was hoping that Tonya and Shawn would bring the heat...and I have faith they will from this brew.

This one has a big citrus/pineapple/grapefruit hop profile going on. Good carbonation but not too heavy in the body. I'm really digging this. Maybe I'm being partial but feels like something that only a seasoned NW brewer could do.

Your "nothing special" and "average at best" = A-?

    Weird..

Been following ajramirez1 (most unintentionally amusing posts on BA!) and it looks like the "A-" is his shorthand signature (assume that his first initial is "A")....

Not sure what is more amusing, had he actually rates the beer an A- after those comments or the fact that he has probably (unintentionally) mixed up the order for the common usage of "-" in signing one's name.

Hoppiest brown ale I have ever had. I usually dislike the style, but this thing is awesome.

I had one last night and enjoyed it. I find normal 'brown ales' a bit boring, but this one had a lot of hoppiness which made it interesting. Maybe similar to Terrapin Hop Karma or DFH Indian Brown Ale.

I'm not a big fan of brown ales, but I really like Oregon Brown. Will definitely have this when I'm down in Bend next weekend.

Shawn Kelso made this one. I wouldn't expect anything less hoppier. He is the king of NW hoppy beers. Has anyone had any of the new batch of Apocalypse? It is insanely better than prior versions since he touched it.

Hmm!? The Oregon Brown bottle is signed "Created by Tonya Cornett"

I heard it was a kelso recipe. But perhaps I was wrong.

The Cascadian Dark Ale on draft right now at Belmont Station is Kelso's first 10B brew, according to Belmont Station.

I tried this twice over the past couple of weeks. Thought it was boozy and sharp. Not a fan at all.
