My wife and I were in Portland last year and were able to attend the Fruit Beer Festival. Ever since, she's been using 10 Barrel Raspberry as the benchmark for everything else we try. Does anyone know if there is a way to get a growler of it? I'd love to surprise her, and would be happy to send all sorts of Midwest stuff your way. It's probably unavailable, but I'd love to see if anyone has any information about it! Thanks a lot! Nate
So far as I know, it was only brewed once - in 2012. Most of the fruit beer fest items were one off's. Unlikely it'll come back as 10 Barrel constantly churns out X taps at an alarming rate. Since Shawn and Tonya are involved in recipe development , most of them are pretty darned excellent.
Raspberry Crush will be back. It has even been discussed as a bottle release. Right now Tonya at 10 Barrel is churning out different versions of it like the aforementioned Apricot version that is fantastic. I also hear there will be a brand new version with a different fruit at the fruit beer festival this year.
Randomly, there is a new bottle shop in sunriver, just south of bend, that has raspberry crush on tap. But sadly, no growler fills. I guess it helps that the shop was opened up by people from 10 barrel.
Thanks for the updates! Hopefully it ends up bottled, because it's great. Next time we're in Portland, we'll definitely swing by Mountain Jug.
None of the sours have seen distribution, but their IPA, ISA, Black Ale, and seasonal six packs (currently a rye IPA) are all readily available. They also recently released a Strong "rye wine" (for lack of a better term) that was aged in rye whiskey barrels. Their rep has told me several times that they plan on bottling things from the crush series, but for one reason or another they keep getting pushed back.
They bottle their year around stuff. Not sure how far their distribution is. http://www.10barrel.com/brewery/our-beers.html
None of the places where I saw Raspberry Crush allowed growlers. Also, Mountain Jug is now on to the Apricot, so unless 10 Barrel or someone else hid away a keg of the Raspberry, it's gone.
