I'm in the market for a 15gal kettle to make 10gal batches. Any recommendations?

Try a restaurant supply store, they often have used pots. I got a used 15 gallon stainless steel pot for ~$75. This was probably 5 years ago when metal was a lot cheaper. Regardless, a used pot will be much cheaper most of what you find online.

And if you don't mind aluminum, a new 15gal kettle can be had for around 60 bucks.

    I like this company: http://www.katom.com/cat/grid/aluminum-stock-pots-covers-60-80-quarts.1.html

If you like to cook you can spend hours salivating over stuff at sites like this. But yes, look at used items in local stores first.

Seeing those prices, I am surprised more people don't go with aluminum. I got my pot in the beginning when I believed there was a difference between aluminum and stainless.

There is a difference...but both work well enough...my favorite: stainless steel aluminum sandwich

Thanks for all the great input. I'll post my results after I brew my first 10 gallon batch, and I'd appreciate any and all comments, suggestions, and constructive criticism at that time. Cheers!
