Did you know all of the ‘facts’ detailed in the below video?

    Cheers!

P.S. I will set my timer to see how long it takes for the BA ‘fact checkers’ to chime in.

Thanks, I've heard the story about Andre the Giant many times but with different amounts of beers being drunk. 135 being the most. That was at the Hersey Hilton in PA. He passed out and was too heavy to move so a blanket was placed over him, and he sleep it off. Don't know if that is true.

They may have needed two blankets to cover him!:stuck_out_tongue:

    Cheers!

Sure, I'll jump in to point out something merely because I took a few seconds to actually think about it.

Taken at face value (which I don't), the Boggs thing doesn't really make physical sense. A cross-country flight (presuming continental US) is like 6 hours. That's like 15+ beers an hour, or one every 4 minutes. So not quite physically impossible from a timing standpoint, but it'd at least be tedious to pop open a beer that often and drinking it that fast. I'll also note that drinking more than 48oz of water in an hour is not advised (I assume for an otherwise normally hydrated human).

Even at 24 hours, the number quoted would be a beer every 15 minutes. Obviously the same holds true for Andre, even if he doesn't fits in the category of "normal human."

So the video was an interesting little distraction for me

Have you seen the Always Sunny episode about this? Needless to say, it’s gold, as are most episodes

The Wade Boggs "legend" is a crock of :poop: on several levels. 107 12-ounce beers equates to a little over 10 gallons of liquid. Assuming a four-hour cross-country flight, that's 27 beers per hour, or more than one every 2.5 minutes. At 5% ABV (Pissweiser or something similar), that works out to 2.5 gallons of pure alcohol, enough to kill any human being not named André Roussimoff.

    Prove me wrong.

Oops! :flushed: That's 0.5 gallons of pure alcohol, not 2.5 gallons. That's still more alcohol than you'd get in five 750-ml bottles of 100-proof vodka.

I still don't believe it for a second.

Yep. That Always Sunny In Philadelphia show IMO is the funniest comedy ever. I watch the reruns all the time and I’m in tears with laughter. Seinfeld a close 2nd. Streaming on Hulu now if anyone wants to watch it and hasn’t yet. Not for the easily offended though.

There were many so-called "non-intoxicating" (usually based on state law) malt beverages marketed under a variety of terms (malt tea, malt extract, hop tea, near beer, malt tonic, malt sap) brewed by US breweries in the decades before US National Prohibition.

And regarding their #2 claim, the document that was used to date the brewery Weihenstephan to 1040 is generally considered a forgery.
    (Certainly a fact-checked video )

Yeah, but it was so long ago, who can remember that far back?
They shouldn't have given it to the new guy.
