I got a box of beer that I received in a trade today. Unfortunately the UPS jackass that delivered the beer did not drop it off at my house until 7:30pm, so it sat on the truck in 100+ degree heat all day. The bottles were very very warm when I took them out of the box. Does that screw up or ruin the beer? Most of the beers in the box were stouts.....had one IPA and a pale ale....

You should be fine if you don't drink them tonight. Just put the brews in the fridge, wait a day or two and I wouldn't think it would be much of an issue at all.

They are most likely fine, but that is the risk you take when you trade.

Probably fine. No worries. Slowly chill them down and kill 'em!

The IPA and Pale might have some noticeable effects. The only differences that I've noticed in the past were seemingly heightened aging (dull hops, muted flavors, loss of some carbonation). Or, in rare instances, some coagulated proteins which result in a curdled looking head that tastes like horse feed. I'm guessing that second one takes some extreme or prolonged heat though because I've only experienced it with BrewDog's IPA and a homebrew sent from a friend in the UK - both consumed in late summertime so I'm guessing (?) that they sat on a hot ass ship for a while and just got baked beyond recognition.

UPS Jackass? The guy was likely following his route and you happened to be near the end of it. Apparently everyone who doesn't treat you as entitled automatically becomes a raging jackass.

    Your beer will be fine.

    Also, this^
Not sure why so many BA's think that the people delivering their beer all over the f'ing world are conniving, evil bastards.

Thought this thread was about how the heat makes beer taste better. It's a sweltering 72 up here in Seattle!

This. Try driving around for 8-10 hours without a/c and see if you really care when some dude gets his precious package.

That's inhumane. UPS should at least change the color of their trucks, poor guys.

As long as they don't throw my boxes around like those videos on Youtube I take it in stride...

Amen to that. That's the very reason I've boycotted UPS. I imagine my FedEx man hauling my beer around in something like this:

Lol, it'd be cool if I knew my fedex or UPS guy drank good beer and didn't care about their policies. It would be nice to hook 'em up every now and then.

Your beer will be fine, cant think of a better example of 1st world problem than trading for a specialty beer that was temporarily exposed to relatively high temperatures. Might take a little bit of the edge of the hoppy beers aroma wise, otherwise you should be good.

On a side note, sounds like we need to get those trains from the coors light commercials up and running.

I want my beer going on this truck, it will get there faster. It's parked and the front end is still on fire from that blazing speed.

it's been in the danger zone too long

put it in boiling water for 10 minutes to sterilize it before drinking
