Not really, it usually goes for at least 10 bucks a bottle in stores.

That skews a bit high, but it is an expensive beer

That's a little high, bottles here are between 9-10 dollars here, but really what other 18% abv dipa/bw hybrid monsters do you have to compare it with?

The only place that would be unreasonable is at the brewery. Last time I was there cases were only $90.

A local place near the University of Pittsburgh used to sell it for $20 a bottle. Needless to say, I passed on it.

$10 sounds about right. That's what I paid.

$45 for 4 Dogfish Head 120 Min. IPA works out to $11.25 per bottle. In my area each bottle typically goes for more than that; that's a good deal for me.

It's on par with the current prices, but what bothers me is the effort by DFH to find the ceiling on that beer. Four years ago I could find it for $6.99 a bottle, three years ago it was $7.99, and so on to it's current price of around $10.99 around me. I've asked the owners, and supposedly the prices are going up at the brewery level.

Could it be price increases in ingredients? I mean to get a beer up to 18% and still be somewhat balanced when fresh it has to take a ton to make right?

At least you can get it. I've been wanting to try it, but with my states ABV cap I will have to wait and pick up a bottle on my Florida vacation in a few weeks.

You gotta try it once. It's expensive but quite good. Consider it an experience.

As long as it wasn't price over $50 you are fine

Tons of ingredients but what makes it even more expensive is the time and space it takes up in the brewery. Over 30 times the volume of hops, over 7 times the volume of malts per barrel and it is aged 5 times longer than an average ale.

That's why I was impressed that they dumped their entire batch back in 2010 or 2011 because it didn't taste up to their standards. It cost them a ton of money.

Be glad you can find it in 4 packs. Most places in Michigan have a 1 or 2 bottle limit.

you gotta trade for it, basically. I did for 2 bottles. Or make a road trip, but even then you're stabbing into the dark because even stores that carry it up in Virginia or DC are often out of stock (so I've heard! maybe I'm wrong)
Just look around the trading forum. And I thought it was fantastic fresh out of the bottle, others might disagree. The 2nd bottle I'm going to age for a couple years

Wow. Had no clue about this beer.
Maybe I should split the 4 pack with 3 others and give it a go.
