I find the exact opposite is true.

Fresh it's a sweet syrupy alcoholic mess. With time it actually develops a hop presence. I find 6 months to a year is the sweet spot.

And yes, I know this is against everything we all know about IPAs and I can't explain it.

Mind you that it's never really a hoppy beer.

In that case I might as well drink one now and save one for later...

I agree. When it is new it is undrinkably sweet for me. But with at least a year on it, it mellows and becomes slightly more balanced. Still not one of my favorites. I have some I'm going to let sit for a long time and see if it helps.

6 isn't so bad. Other than the fact it's $10 a bottle. lol

I would never hoard that beer. It's a nice one about once a year. Other than that, I can pass.

Well it has only come out in bottles once in the last 4 or so years. Well, twice now I guess.

It's a new thing to a lot of newer beer nerds.

I said the same thing about the price. I only had it for the first time like 6 months ago, so it was exciting to finally get the Big brother to the 60-90 minute.

I was more excited when I got a 64oz growler for $20 - split with two other guys, that was a solid night.

I would love to get a growler of this. Kinda winey and tons of my non-craft friends loved it.

    Great stuff!

That's so weird. My brother who hates all things hoppy loves this beer.

Have you ever had fresh DFH 120 Min? No. Then buy 2 or 3 and drink one now and age the rest at least a year. There is no other reasonable answer to the 'drink now or age it?' question.

Taste is subjective and just because some people don't enjoy it fresh but do after a few months/ years does not mean you will so drink it and if you like it drink more of it. Ageing it might ruin it for you and your specific palate.

I had it fresh when I bought it in September. I ended up drinking it and ill probably go buy one on Friday when I get paid. I'm hoping they'll still be there but if not its nothing ill cry over.
It tasted...the same as it did in September to me. I thought it'd change a little but it tasted basically the same.

I think this should be like a 3 bottle limit

Even at that I think it will last a while due to price.
