Will brewery's fill 128 oz growlers in VA? When I look up laws all I can see mentioned is 32 and 64 oz growlers. If anyone knows, i would appreciate the knowledge.

Totally speculating but I'm thinking the on site size allotments are pretty strict and regulated, that's just how the alcohol business works. Why not just buy two 64s?

That's absurd why on earth would anyone want a 128 ounce fill of anything?
It will go flat quick and most people don't drink more than 6 beers in a sitting but 10? DAMN!

Ah ok I see it has CO2 but again why would anyone spend this much when bottled beer is so much cheaper?

Also that growler is looking at 40-50 dollars, insane!

I can't find anything at all about limiting the size of a growler in VA. I think it goes by the establishment. Some places will only do 32oz fills on some taps, others no fills on certain taps. I think it varies by establishment and then even by the beer. Definitely would call and ask about specifically what you want.

bottled beer (vs growler fill) is usually more expensive here in VA

I've seen it go both ways. Someone recently posted in a Facebook group about how they got a growler of Nugget Nectar for $12. I said you could get more beer in a more convenient format for less money by buying a 6-pack. I came off as a dick I think but the growler thing can really be a rip off sometimes. People defending the lady said things about the beer being "fresh from the tap", as if that made it taste better. It was later revealed that this was a half price growler at that, and the regular price was $24, which was why she thought it was such a good deal. A lot of times I think growler fills seem like a good value because you are comparing them to the price of a draft beer, usually at the same location, and not to the price of a bottle.

yes it can go both ways, but from my experience, many shops/breweries in VA (at least here in Richmond) often have cheaper growler pricing vs bottles per ounce compared to other states
