When should we start the "Is BCBCS in 12oz bottles a shell of the former bombers?" threads?

    Maybe this one can evolve.

I suppose they will be easier to smuggle out of stores... Bombers were a pain in the ass

Don't worry, that one took me a minute too.

This is pretty sweet though. The 12oz format is great for selfish drinking, however, what will most likely happen is that I will end up drinking two in one sitting thus completely negating the benefit.

You know what also comes in 4 packs? Regular bourbon county stout and yet stores break them down alll the time "so that there is more to go around and please more customers" if there is going to be a limit of 1 at most stores its now going to be a bigger hassle to try and grab multiples of the beer and probably more expensive too!

This doesn't make sense. A 22oz bomber of BCBCS was 20 bucks, give or take a few bucks depending where you bought it from. Are you saying stores are going to charge 12-15 bucks per 12oz? That's the only way it'll be more expensive.

Crazier things have happened when it comes to that beer and its many variants. Even if its not more expensive, it probably will be harder to find and get greater quanities of if stores do break it down into one 12oz bottle per customer.

Except drinking 2 more ounces and hopefully a lower price per ounce!

I believe that stores (and maybe this is a city of Chicago thing or Cook County or I don't even know) cannot break up a 4-/6-/whatever pack if that's how the beer is packaged by the wholesaler. Some stores skirt this more obviously than others -- but then you see Vas Foremost selling 4-packs of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, presumably because they got caught before.

Single bottles sales are commonplace in WI

Did you see a 4 pack of KBS laying around anywhere?

They built those 4-packs. 120 Minute are packaged as individual bottles.

If priced appropriately, I prefer stores that break up the the 4/6/12 packs. I know of very few places that don't do this.

Should I assume there will be as much (or kind of close, at least?) of this going around as there was regular BCBS last year? If so, then that would be swell since I had no trouble buying up a bunch of it last year without having to get on any lists/chase trucks/etc.

    FTFY -- and no.

Then I'll stick to Chicago when looking to buy BCCS!

At most retailers, the cost per ounce should go down if the 4-packs are split up in the 12 oz. format, unless stores charge $10.99 or up per individual bottle. (A likely proposition, no doubt, but hopefully not the standard).

    22 oz bomber at $19.99 = $0.91/oz
    12 oz bottle at $10.99 = $0.91-$0.92/oz
