I agree with both of you. Fresh Expo does have a more complex profile but I feel that FIS is more well rounded out of the gate, for the record Pt5 is probably the best RIS in the state upon release. I tend to prefer FIS at around 6 months and at a year Expo really starts to come into its own.

Expedition is truly a work of art. The beer develops with unmatched grace. There is not a stout out there that hangs with Expo 5+ years, let alone the 10-15+ years Expo is still holding its own.

I co-sign re: Pt5 being #1 out of the gate, followed by Expo and FIS. That said, if the bottles I've had recently are any indication, Pt5 really does not age well.

I had 2012 Pt5 on tap earlier this year and it was meh. Better fresh IMO. But expy is mighty fine aged. BA expy is even better!

I had Bourbon Barrel Expedition Stout on tap this week in GR. It was pretty spectacular.

WOW, I'd love to try this. I wonder if they ever ship kegs of this to Chicago ...

Also looking forward to picking up some 2014. Wanted to do a mini-vertical with some neighbors.

Where was this at if you don't mind me asking? I've never seen this outside of the Bell's pub.

My wife and I both preferred '12 Expedition to '13 FIS.

Eccentric Party 2012. Black Note, BA Expo, and 09 Expedition all on tap. Best of the day: Expedition 09

It was in fact Graydon's Crossing. Wasn't in the book or on the board, waitress just told me it was on tap.

Bought 2 cases last year. I defininitely need more this year. Along with plead the 5th (aged) they're the 2 best non barrel aged imperial stouts.

Releasing this to Indiana this week. Expedition, Java, and Double Cream is in the distributors warehouse, and on a truck to me today.

Edit: Java did not come today... not sure if I had bad info from the sales rep, or they don't want to release it yet.

I've done that and agree that it's a solid aged brew, but the way Expo ages is exponentially(cwidt?) better
