16.9 oz Bourbon County Stout - Too much?

Took me exactly a 3 period and 5 minute overtime game of hockey to finish the 16.9. No way would I ever drive after it, but it's a nice treat for at home when it's cold!

 

Hey bobhits - was this a thread on 4.9 oz more of misspelled Bourbon County or bud light lol? I like your fancy math though

 

OK - I'll say it. This is a joke right - 16.9 oz of beer - I don't care what the ABV - is too much ? for who - a 16 year old

 

Just the right size for an at home sipper...

 

12oz > 16.9oz > 22oz

 

I think the size is fine. It took me over 2 hours to finish it and a bomber would have been too much. My wife doesn't prefer the BA beers so it would have been me finishing it and based on the cost I would have probably felt obligated to do so. The bottle is cool and it presents well.

 

I think its fine, I split one last night with someone and could have easily finished the bottle myself! Though I was hoping for 3liter bottles this year.....

 

2 hours!? Wow.
Not bragging but it took me 2.5hrs to finish a 2015 Black Tuesday. It felt like an enternity bath of bourbon.

 

I'm in the 12 oz. camp as well.

 

Hell YEAH it too friggin much, Christ.

The majority of the people in my life would think this tastes like sludge so I cant split it.

And of course I can finish it, but I wouldn't be drinking much else after it. Or speaking to anyone without regretting it.

Of course I'm still buying it....but it may just end up next to the 12 oz bottles I still have from years past b/c even that's too much.

 

How? That had to have been close to three hours. Its only 16oz. Even savoring every last drop its 45min-1hour tops.

 

Actually split one of my four bottles last night, three ways - perfect amount as a 'dessert beer' with some mincemeat pie. Awesome sauce.

 

Its equivelent to 4 bud lights. Its not that intense of a beer. Im not advocating slamming pints of it but my god its not like its going to black you out if you have a glass of it.

 

That is a tough bottle to solo.

 

I didn't get any bottles this year, but I did have a 10oz pour. I drank that over about 45 mins, and honestly would not have wanted more. I think sticking with 12oz bottles would have been a better choice. But really guys, it isn't like a 16.9oz bottle is equivalent to a 12 pack. One bottle isn't going to ruin your day.


That said, I had a 10oz pour of KBS later that day, and I was much more impressed with the KBS.

 

Geez I had about 10oz of the bottle and hardly caught a buzz. Last year on thanksgiving I drank an entire 750ml bottle of double barrel Huna myself (I tried to share but no one liked it) I wasnt complaining.

 

I start speaking my mind a little too honestly after only two bud lights. Getting old.

 

Too much what? I know I heard a few folks at the bottle shop talking about how they need to share it. Then one guy in their group was like "Share? Hell no why would you do that!?" Its not that intense y'all.

 

And the new bottles are beautiful keepsakes.

 

God. Im even less excited for that day to come now lol.
