I'm hoping so but it didn't sound too good from what they said hopefully it's just a small amount of it

Wait, then what happened to the Scotch-aged BCBS that they already got label approval from the TTB for?

Doesn't live up to BCBS standards in it tastes infected or doesn't live up to BCBS standards in you can't taste the hype?

I doubt these have even been extracted from the barrel yet. I know they test it throughout the process but I kinda doubt some distributor would know this. Especially after what happened last year there's no way someone would open up about that.

It's September 28. Last year's infected Barleywine and Coffee were bottled even earlier than this, no?

There is zero percent chance that a distributer has this information after what happend lst year. No way GI would put that out there.

Yep, there's usually some in bottles by now for sure. They are really taking their time with the announcement this year which can be a good sign or a bad sign. We knew last year's lineup for over a month at this point and the 2014 lineup was official for two months at this point.

Who knows if anything "happened" to it. I believe GI's statement was that they get approval for many different labels, and the variants haven't been finalized yet. Since we saw 2 different labels supposedly approved for Prop (one of which was the Scotch aged one), I think we just have to wait and see. They have to be announcing it soon.

Anyone wearing the free t shirts they got last year after drinking all that excellent stout and barleywin....., oh never mind. Does it bother anyone but me? OK, free t shirt fine. Now one is expected to do free advertising for them promoting the product that got recalled? Just rubs me the wrong way, maybe I'm being petty?

    You are.

Plenty of beer companies -- especially ones with coveted products that will be bought out no matter what negative press is out there -- would have told people to pound sand. GI instead tried to make things right.

And, as has been mentioned in abundance, they had an infection issue for one year. It happens. Either buy the beer this year or don't, but the endless soapboxes from which everyone is voicing their displeasure almost a full year later need to be lit on fire.

FWIW they weren't very happy with Vanilla Rye leading up to release either.

OK, point taken. I have never had a beer recalled before. But will look at the posts before I buy this year. Sort of like the free chipotle burritios, just no. Next.

Not buying a single bottle this year. just opened a regular from 2015 and it was infected. on top of the Barleywine and Coffee's being ruined, the infected taste has soured me on this beer all together.

I realize they tried to make it right, but there are too many other options out there

Maybe they're purposefully keeping the variants under wraps until they can officially announce them through more self-aggrandizing promotional short movies/clips.
