I think you need to probably wait a week or two - places are still getting their first drop this week. I don't think the second drop came until the second week or so of December last year. But, I have no knowledge one way or another if there actually will be one this year.

Last year was the first year that there were secondary drops, right? I wondered if it was the overflow from the Georgia mix up. The timing would have been about right if it had to go back to GI and then get redistributed.

I can't ever remember a 2nd drop. Here, the first lasts about 10-15 Minutes.

Snagged 4 more bottles of the regular tonight at a bottle shop on my regular rotation. 6 were remaining when I left the store (and $9.99 a bottle, a fantastic steal and yep- all 2016 vintage). I was told they may get a drop of the Barleywine by Friday.. Nothing for sure though..

    Peace...

Anyone know if they are planning another drop of the proprietors or coffee?

I believe they are, though it hasn't been officially announced- start planning Black Friday 2017.

Okay so is there any difference in taste comparing 13.8% and 14.5% 2016 reg?

I have many 13.8s but I finally got my first 14.5

I found the 13.8 to be extremely good fresh, but I don't want to open my 14.5 yet since I only have 1

IMO I think one would be hard pressed to differentiate the 13.8% vs 14.5% versions. Any perceived difference would likely be psychological in nature, again imo. But I think this would be a cool opportunity to do a blind taste test. Maybe have someone pour 4 small servings, 2 from each ABV version in indistinguishable glasses and have someone (or a couple people even) try all 4 and see if they can detect a difference between them. And then for that person to try matching the pair of glasses from the same ABV in helping to confirm the taste difference. There might be a more scientific way of doing , however.

How come the Proprietors for this year seems to be exactly the same as the Maple Rye they were going to release?

How does it seem to be exactly the same when you don't know what the Maple Rye was going to taste like?

Lol, this actually makes for good conspiracy theory. As the ingredients for 2016 Prop and Rye were virtually the same, I wonder if GI just scrapped already done Rye and labeled it as more Prop. That could explain the mass variations of taste people are experiencing as they go to different kegs of Prop if one was from the Prop recipe and one was from a slightly different Rye recipe....

Were there 2015 BCBS dates that were not infected? Just wondering because I saw some 2015 vintage being sold at a shop today and wanted to buy some if it was okay.

I and many others here have had bottles that were on the date list but tasted just fine. So it's a gamble. If it's a good price, it might be worth the risk. If it's a gouger, I'd let them sit on their potentially infected beer.

Any idea if So-Cal will get more of regular BC?

I placed a special request for some BCBS at my local grocery store a few weeks ago thinking it'll never happen, but it was worth a shot.

I received a call today saying they were able to get 1 bottle only, but the manager had to stress repeatedly - "You do know that this is ten dollars a bottle, don't you? It's only one bottle for ten dollars, okay?"

I'm thinking they don't get this type of request all too often.

haha.. That's funny, 'cause $10 is the cheapest you'll find it for. Good work, though.
