'16 Bourbon County Lineup

Interested as always. I feel for certain that there will no be no shortage of people lining up for bottles.

 

Sounds solid to me. Love rye barrel stouts so that def peeked my interest along with scotch. Still need to get a proper coffee. Guess I already know where my BCS refund is going!

 

Lot of redemption possibilities attached to this year's lineup. I was soured(no pun intended) on the brand in general this year, but if they're able to rally and get back to greatness this year I'll be back on board.

 

Agree on the Scotch Barrel being a variant instead of Prop. As mentioned before Prop is a GI employee creation/recipe and if the winning recipe is a scotch barrel, I can only be afraid of what the losing recipes were!

 

Why is it so hard to source coconut / vanilla / cinnamon up in Chicago. Isn't it clear from previous years what makes a delicious stout? I am relived at the lack of fruits and berries though! And I'm definitely intrigued by the scotch BA iteration. Smoke and peat will work well with that base.

But totally bummed that King Henry was left out! Was really looking forward to that (though without the pappy barrels it may have been a let down, anyway....)

 

I'm hoping enough people are "soured" that I don't have to work as hard to get what I want.

 

Like others....Maple Rye sounds tasty.

Just hoping they've corrected any infection issues and this coming year will go much smoother.

sounds dope but will they deliver?!?! the idea of waiting and paying a high price for something that may taste disgusting certainly makes it less exciting and fun. im sure statistically the chances of getting an infected Goose Island stout arent any higher than a barrel aged stout from anyone else - but it still worries me... 100% of the infected stouts ive had the displeasure of tasting were from GI but I guess I can just dismiss that as it is merely anecdotal.

 

I'll wait in line for Maple Rye for sure. If there's infections again this year though, it will surely be my last time doing so.

 

Fuck I hope sc gets some variants this year.....

AMEN! This turd of a trend needs to die. The subtle pepper in stuff like Bomb and Abraxas are fine, but I cannot do the hotter ones.

 

Maple Rye sounds good! If possible will try to nab two of those. Looking forward to these.
