I couldn't get any in person last year. Hoping to get a bottle of each this year, unless it's over $20. Not worth it for me. I'll be looking for that coffee one! And I'll drink it fresh just in case there is any shenanigans again.

No berry variant this year is a bummer. Bramble/Backyard/Regal are the best variants they've done.

Peppers are good...but prop 15 listed peppers, but didn't taste like peppers

We are always on the same page usually...but For me its the vanilla variants then bramble!

Wrong. If i want pepper in my beer, Bomb! is the beer I buy and its absolutely fantastic. However, adding peppers to a maple beer seems to me as a desperate attempt to come out with the next big flavor combo after a year of botched beer. Ill probably still buy the damn thing if I see it though so my opinion isn't worth a dime.

I'm almost certain this is correct. I'm too lazy to research it but wasn't "King Henry 2.0" all but confirmed last year? Actually, and granted it's been awhile and for some reason my recollection of that afternoon is a little hazy, but weren't the barrels visible at the barrel warehouse on Rare Day? I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean they'd release it this year . . . .

This lineup sounds quite interesting. My local bottle shop always just gets the standard and the rye variants, so hopefully I will be able to land a bottle or two of the maple rye. This year's prop sounds good too. Scotch Whiskey sounds like a nice little twist which could add a lot of smoothness to the base beer.

But BCBS barrels are filled approximately a year before they're bottled. When they filled the barrels for 2016, no one was aware yet of the infections, so this can't be an attempt to make up for mistakes.

Pardon the image quality. This was taken at rare day. See the barrel at the bottom right.

    See, now that's what I'm talking about--thanks!

I know absolutely nothing about brewing. Does "missed extraction" have any technical-to-brewing meaning beyond the obvious plain language meaning?

    From ChiTribune:

She said that the brewery suspects the beers picked up the unwanted bacteria in the tanks used to move the beer between the brewery's barrel-aging warehouse on Sacramento Boulevard and its brewery on Fulton Street, where the beer is bottled.

Since this will be first year trying it, ill stick to the base. But will grab a coffee variant if i see one

meh. not spending a minute in line or a minute chasing this year.

The purple label was pretty good last year, but nothing earth shattering. Coffee and barleywine were infected and trash and I actually dont even want to drink the barleywine for a while now. on top of that, i liked the 12oz bottles better

too many other options. sorry Goose

I realize these may not be the final versions of the labels, but I'm not surprised to see the "develops in the bottle for up to 5 years" gone. I'm anticipating this year's line will be pasteurized.

I wouldn't bet that it's gone. That statement only shows on the back part of the neck label, so we just might not be seeing it in these pictures that have been shown online. IIRC, the similar pictures from last year ahead of time didn't show the part about developing in bottle for up to 5 years either.

The '5 years' bit is on the back of the tab which sticks off the bottle neck (underneath the Goose logo on the left which is the front). It was not displayed on the 2015 labels either as seen below.
