Considering this is planned out well over a year in advance and the beer was in barrels before this was discovered they can't make changes based on the previous years debacle.

Honestly I would just rather see them nail this years rather than ruin something like Vanilla Rye or King Henry/Edward (whatever they will call the next batch).

I'd prefer they concentrate their efforts this year on avoiding future infections - probably by pasteurization and better tank cleaning. If you are at all on the fence I would strongly advise you not to buy any in the future, leaving more for the rest of us!

Thx for the advice chief! But really only giving my opinion, and as usual, there's always someone who needs to add something totally pointless. And it will keep going back and forth....... So I'll end it now. Let's not waste anymore time on this.i gave my opinion, I'm done.
    Good day sir

Just making the point that they would be better served preventing infection than diversifying their lineup at this point. How is my observation pointless - because it doesn't agree with yours?

I've been following them on Twitter for about four months but I still haven't seen a single mention of anything like that.

I am expecting it. Would be huge disappointment if it didn't.

There won't be infection for 2016 releases, because they're not stupid enough to forego pasteurization after the debacle with 2015 infection.

I'm sure I'll have to get some through someone else like last year. All my local places take lists down months in advance. I sure hope I can get ahold of some somehow though.

Have they said anywhere that they're going to pasteurize? It would surprise me if they did since this year's labels have "Develops in the bottle up to 5 years" on them and that would not be true if they were pasteurized.

Pasteurizing wouldnt kill of the developing of the ba stout as much as you think. I think you would be surprised at how many places pasteurize already. They just dont advertise it so people freak out and think oh no this beer will never be the same.

Yeah, why would pasteurization affect BCBS's development? Isn't the "development" from the mellowing and melding of flavors, not active yeast or bugs?

If this is true why would Goose ever NOT pasteurize? Is it a costly process? Apologies if this is a stupid question--I know virtually nothing about brewing.

They refunded my money and gave me a shirt. Would I rather have had the delicious beer? Yes. Am I gonna complain about how they handled it? No. I will try and get at least one bottle of each this year again. I am not holding my breath, since the variants have become increasingly more difficult to procure each year. The Maple Rye sounds delicious.

Where is the best place to go on Black Friday in Chicago to score variants? Thinking of driving up from Peoria. Is the Prop and Rare released on BF also? What time are people lining up?
