Interesting - it would be weird if they had 2 different Props. I wonder if they get labels approved for some things that may not end up coming to fruition?

 

Scotch Prop won't happen

 

Just got my Regular / Prop refund in the mail. All of it will be re-spent on 2016 bottles.

 

That update makes it seem like they're not sure if the scotch barrel BCBS is going to happen, since they have what sounds like the same beer as both a Prop and Maple Rye (yes, I know one says bourbon barrels and the other says bourbon/whiskey).

 

I was thinking the same thing.

Do we have evidence of this yet?

 

Nothing concrete however the only true evidence is if they announce it or when it comes out.
I've just heard things 2nd & 3rd hand things but this new label approval sure seems to back that stuff up

 

Will the scotch prop just become Rare 3.0 in 2017? Rare traditionally is just a different barrel with 2 years of aging....a scotch barrel could qualify if they leave it in there for 2 years.

 

Not unless they're going with sour Rare

 

Did anyone notice that the neck label for the supposed "Scotch Whisky" was spelled wrong and the lettering on the word whiskey looks a bit off?

 

That's how Scotch Whisky is spelled. Whiskey means Irish or American whiskey. Whisky means Scotland. Look it up.

 

So prop will have Maple, chilies, and cocoa. Maple Rye will also have that, maple, chilies, cocoa, but in Rye barrels???

Brett Porter told me directly that they are aging a barley wine for two years in the spent '15 Rare barrels. I guess that's not official confirmation and I'm just some guy on the internet, but that's what happened. He said they wanted to call it Prince Hal but Virtue Cider already used that name and they didn't have another name yet. I suggested King Ralph.

 

Oh c'mon, it's gotta be called Prince Albert, especially if it winds up getting infected.

 

When do they generally put the tickets on sale?
