Pizza Port 16oz cans are in 6 packs and they're $11.

It is a conspiracy!! I want all the great beers in 12oz cans. A 12oz serving is just right. I hate the the last 1/4 of a can gets way too warm in 16ozers. Plus, I can't hide a 16ozer in my hand like I can a 12ozer.

Love the 16 oz format. Have the 717 collaboration right now in cans. And, I've never had a beer get warm on me!

Surly Brewing has been using this format for years.

It is interesting that most 16oz can formats are mostly very solid to great beers and rated very highly on BA reviews. You're not seeing the thousands of pedestrian American craft beers out there in that format. Nice observation OP.

It does seem many of the best, most desirable beers, are made in 16oz cans, sans massively produced swill. While there are outliers if I see a 16oz can out of state I assume it's decent.

I watched NN cans sell out everywhere, while I still see stacks of bottle cases on sale. Weird.

Im not the biggest fan of cans, just a preference. The taste, to me, is different from can to bottle. More of a bottle man my self.

Finch's. They make primarily 16 oz and most of their beers are meh or worse.

Don't think a format makes a difference. The format choice is pure economics (EDIT: Plus regultions).

Yep...it is. But I do enjoy Swami's IPA. Also, I do like Bells 2 Hearted Ale better in 16oz cans.

My favorite summer beer Narragansett summer ale comes in 16 ounce cans. At 4.2% ABV it is so easy to put those things away. In fact Narragansett puts out all their beers in 16 ounce cans as far as I know. Love their stuff and it is brewed right here in Rochester New York by the Genesee brewery under contract to Narragansett.

Seems a little harsh since they probably brew over 100 beers, many of which don't have diacetyl off flavors. I don't drink it often, but I've never has a Sip that tastes buttery, and most people seem to like it....

To me, it was more of a slightly sour/funky yogurt taste than butter - maybe from lacto, pedio, or some other bug. Either way, they need to get it together down there. I can't imagine Sean Lawson would be pleased to hear about contaminated SoS.

Cans are lighter to ship and keep out all light - so better shelf life too.

I guess it does seem harsh, but that's why I threw ymmv in there. For me, that last can happened at a time when I had pretty much had enough, and it's more of the culmination of one too many butter bombs over the past year. Maybe I can excuse one sample, but two from the same place is starting to look like a pattern. Especially in light of other comments I've been seeing about some of those beers coming from the same place.

Only one from finchs I ever really really enjoyed was hardcore chimera.

Troegs adding 16oz cans of nectar this year was an unbelievable god send. I went through 2 cases.
