I'm going out to Denver tomorrow and I'm looking for a bar within 1/2 mile of the 16th Street Mall and with the following criteria in this order:
    1) Showing the NY Ranger game at 5:00 p.m.
    2) Decent beer

I know about the Sports Column but they're having a 20th anniversary party tomorrow from 4pm - 9pm. It's my fall back place but I really don't want to pay $10 to get in for a party I don't really care about.

The NY Ranger stipulation will probably probably make things difficult for you. Maybe call Blake Street Tavern and ask? Or Yardhouse?

I'd drop Lucky Pie Lodo or Falling Rock a call. Both have TVs at the bar and will often have multiple games going. Outside of that ... check with Rock Bottom, Yards, World of Beer, etc. Denver is a major sports town, so pretty much every bar on or around 16th Street Mall will have multiple TVs going and you can get at the very least a good beer practically everywhere.

Might want to give Mellow Mushroom a call, as well. If you can though try Falling Rock or Freshcraft first.

Not sure about the Rangers game, but Freshcraft and World of Beer LoDo have the best beer selections closest to 16th St Mall, Falling Rock is best around if you want to walk a little further. All have TVs

Freshcraft. Great beer, great food, and they have multiple TVs so it shouldn't be a problem to get the game on

Yeah, I would say Freshcraft or WOB most likely to have or be willing to put the Ranger game on for a customer. Very close to each other too, as is Lucky Pie.

Although less than half a block off 16th St., Freshcraft is close enough to the Pepsi Center that Avs fans into craft beer frequently pre- and post-game there. The brothers who own it are upper Midwesterners (Iowa) and not strangers to the sport....Avs are away tonight so there won't be a crush of Av fans in there I wouldnt think, but Avs are the later game tonight anyhow so no TV conflict. Multiple monitors in any event.

Is that a nationally televised game? You'll have to search pretty hard if it's not.
