16Tons (Eugene) this weekend... IPA Fest

    Tons of IPAs at 16 Tons in Eugene today (Sat 3/10) and tomorrow (Sun 3/11). They have some on cask (from Oakridge Brewer's Union Local 180) and a Hop Rocket (I don't know what they'll be running through it, but it should be interesting)... based on their recent kegs, I think they'll also have Dogfish Head 120 Minute on tap.

    Confirmed beers include: Boneyard Notorious, Dogfish Head 120 Minute, Russian River Pliny the Elder, Avery Maharaja, Hopworks Ace of Spades, Block 15 Six Hop Wonder, and Brewer's Union Union Dew (cask), Stone 15th Anniversary Escondidian Imperial Black IPA, Ninkasi Gin Barrel Maiden the Shade, Hop Valley Zythos IPA, Oakshire ODark 30 Nitro.​

    16 Tons is at the top of my list of places to visit next time I'm out in Portland. I was looking at their cafe draught selection a couple days ago and couldn't believe all the high end, boneyard IPA's/DIPA's they were pouring. That being said...

    I'm curious about the gin barrel maiden the shade. Is this a special barrel Ninkasi made for them? I'm just curious, because I thought maiden the shade was still a summer seasonal, and as much as I love that beer, it's been my experience that it does not age all that well.

    I believe the gin-barrel Maiden was available elsewhere (not just for 16Tons). Perhaps KLCC brew fest or something else?
