18th St moving out of Gary?

My understanding is that they are going to expand into Hammond but will keep the location in Gary as well (unless there is new information). At least that is what Drew said in this article last month...

Let's be honest.. Who wouldn't move out of Gary?

 

I like going to the current place / location. As long as there's not a bottle release you can park right there, walk right in, and get what you want. Hopefully the new place will be large enough to handle a decent crowd.

 

When we stopped at 18th our GPS took us somewhere 5 miles away and it was pretty... rough... The area 18th was really in at the proper location wasn't all that bad. Cool place, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get back there personally.

 

The guy who gets lots of press for bringing brewing to Gary.

 

You wouldn't think that a city like Gary would be so sand poundingly stupid as to drive away a business like 18th Street...but there it is.

I heard from a friend that 18th is having a release on or about the weekend of Nov 13th. Anyone have deets?

 

The city of Gary didn't exactly smooth the way for 18th Street to open in the first place, but maybe its crapulent politicians don't like businesses shopping around for a better situation somewhere else. A situation that would better than augment their current capabilities. Gary could, just for the sake of argument, make it difficult to expand OR remain comfortable or even viable where they are so...it steps on its dick again. Don't worry about 18th Street.

 

Da Region is full of bad press...as per usual, when good things come along, everyone wants a piece of the pie...BertSugar and other the other rats have seen it time and time again...get used to it...only the strong will survive...don't forget your roots

Lol my car gps did something similar last winter. I was driving around some neighbor hood wondering where the hell I was. I asked a guy shoveling his driveway where 18th street was. He pointed me in the right direction but then told me I was actually just outside Drews house!!

 

Already sold out.

 

Yeah... Eric Hobbs said he was going to make sure this release was organized and fair. I think getting boo'd opens your eyes to true FIBdom.

 

That afternoon was actually my first time going to Penrose -- was trying to do a favor for a friend. Wat wat.

 

Looks like BA Hunter is coming out on the 13th so they are releasing something.
