1980 Guinness Christmas Brew

    These special brews (9.5% ABV) are a little bit too strong for me, therefore I have not sampled one for many years, although I have many 70’s & 80’s samples in my archives. However, I do enjoy the standard British pint of Guinness (4.2% ABV) on a regular basis. In my book this and the Czech Pilsner Urquell brew are the only beers which do not lose their special taste when served cooled.

    Merry Christmas BA! Curiosity got the better of me here and I had to try it, figured what better occasion than Christmas!

    No way I could open something that old! Tho it would taunt me everyday, but isn't that the point? I can't picture not regretting opening something this old? At least you get two in the pack! Regardless, I still hope you enjoyed it.

    @Josholson666 @lockerlove it was interesting, more like a port wine than a beer at this point, lots of oxidized stone fruits but still had some interesting roast to it. It wasn't really drinkable past a few ounces but was an interesting one to try!
