Had this one last night - really good. Even my wife, who doesn't normally like IPAs, kept taking sips from it.
Hard to compare with previous Enjoy Bys, since I don't normally keep notes, much less ratings, but I think this is definitely in the top few I've had.

Finishing up a 02/14/16 unfiltered right now and it is mighty tasty. Sweet and hoppy and wonderfully balanced.

I honestly didn't like the Unfiltered as much. The bitterness is harsher and tastes almost burnt. Other than that the beer has been the same for the last few years.

Not a fan of black IPAs. Stones already confirmed the batches that have been brewed used the same recipe. Exception being the obvious.

Yeah you can see on their website now the hops have been the same for ever batch since like 2013.

I enjoy them all but my favorite is 04.20.13. It was seriously dank and juicy!

I've been curious about the 02.14.16 unfiltered batch. Sadly, I never saw them here in St. Louis.

My favorite was unfiltered. I lucked out on finding a bottle.

The booze is way too prominent, not understanding the world class ratings. The guys as Stone are looking at the raging popularity of unfiltered Northeast IPAs that started with Heady Topper and came up with another money maker. I won't be purchasing again.

I felt the ABV was subtle in the unfiltered, and definitely better than the regular. The lack of filtering did have some desirable affects on the delivered product, particularly in the aroma. But that's just my take, feel free not to buy it I'm sure others will.

I'm not the only reviewer that has observed the booze factor: I'll agree that the 9.4% is about as well hidden as one could expect, but I'd prefer it dialed down to about 8% for my taste.

There's no doubt that it taste 'boozy' compared to the 8% DIPAs we have gotten used to out of NE in general. That said, I don't mind it. I think it's right on par with the other 9-10% "Triple IPAs" I've had, including my favorite batch of Ephriam (the recent batch at 9.6%). I've had most of the Enjoy By releases and I do think the Unfiltered is a step above the rest. The nose on this just absolutely explodes with juicy hops.

I am an Enjoy-By fan, however I tend to enjoy the cool weather releases more; likely because EB is such a big beer it just lends it lends itself better to cold weather or an after-dinner sipper.
I think the taste of the 2-14-16 holds true to the EB flavor profile but two things are being understated about the "unfiltered", that affect the over all experience, are the mouth-feel and color.
It has a heavier, smooth mouth feel due lower carbonation combined with being unfiltered give it that pillowy mouth-feel that is very desirable at the moment, as apposed to the lovely slickness we are used to from EB. Also "haze" is very sexy at the moment, looking at EB unfiltered in the glass like getting ready to have that beautiful girl you've been wishing for....the enjoyment builds before you even have her. In my opinion that's what bring this release to another level.
