Just came across two of these from a friend. Plan on having one this winter for a special occasion. As for the other do I dare let it keep going?

Why don't you drink the first one before making a decision on the second one

If the first one is still good, then you have your answer

You should have it side by side with a fresh one and be sure to report back afterwards to let us know your thoughts

Drank a 2013 over the weekend. Great beer. Certainly curious if an 11yr old version is still tasty. I have (2) bottles left but highly doubt they stay in the cellar that long.

I need to find some of this stuff..........I have yet to see it in PA. Now admittedly I haven't been looking for it until April of this year, but so far no luck.

When the next batch gets released, you will find it at both Als of Hampden as well as Wegmans. (Maybe even Giant on Linglestown Road - I got a bottle of 120 min there just a few weeks ago.)

Where in PA are you? I can't find it in Pittsburgh. I got my 2013 last year near Valley Forge PA.

sorry to necro bump a thread that is a year old but im curious if you opened a bottle and if so, how was it?

was also curious if you could take a picture of the side label and post it here as a reference of what the "bottled in" label notch looks like. it is my understanding there were 2 batches of WWS in 2003. the "normal" nationally distributed version that was 18% abv and a different UK/CA batch that was 21% abv.

I had a 2003 last winter and thought it was great. That's about all I can offer, sorry. I don't remember specifics. I used to have a picture of the date stamp too.

My personal sweet spot for this beer has been three years. I've got a 2013 (December, I think) that's been hanging around my cellar and will be for at least another year. Maybe I'll try five for this one.

Do you recall if it looked like this?

    Or this?

The bottom pic is taken from the DFH website and they state it was bottled in 2003. However, the label they show, lists numbers 1-12 to deligate which month the beer was bottled, not year like mine above.

Also in the post where I found that picture, they explain how they would stack the labels and actually cut them with a hacksaw to designate the month it was bottled. I found that to be pretty cool but at the same time, easily inaccurate.

Based on the two images, I'd guess it matched best with the one on the bottom, but I just tried again via an e-mail search and couldn't find the images I was looking for.

Best of luck. Hope you enjoyed the brew.
