Tell me more about '04. I thought 05 was the first bottling? I could be wrong.

Heh. next year, you bring me glassware and ill use it. I dont like having to carry around glassware all day. Paper cups are disposable and i dont need to wash them out

And they get me free pours from people who just didnt think to bring cups

Maybe Goose Island's idea of "year round" is in keg format only like the second batch of 2011 BCBS. Really hope that's not the case.

I thought the kegs were BCS Bramble if I remember reading the announcement right....

I highly would recommend getting an 06. One week before our Vertical we realized we didn't have it and was able to acquire it and I think it was the best of the vertical in the end. 07 to me, was the worst of 06-09 and everyone at our tasting seemed to agree with that.

I thought the 09 was better. The 06 was good, though, but the 09 is sitting pretty. I think the 22oz bottle's making it age more gracefully than the 12 ozers. Even if the latter are more preferable for drinking by one's self.

I also thought the 2010 was the consensus worst of the vertical because it was way too boozy. *shrugs*

The first time it was released to distribution network was 2005. There were bottles of '04 (and '03 IIRC) available at the brewpub. The label is just white with typewriter style font that said Bourbon County Stout.

No they decided to release the second half of the BCBS as draft only. And from what I understand, less of it was concentrated in the Chicago market and was sent out further. I'm thinking they're just expanding their footprint further and by having it on draft, people drink it rather than hoard it. And then they all become hooked too. And that's how an epidemic begins.

Wait, you in no way answered my question. Oxidation presents itself in different ways. Since you presented yourself as an expert in this case I thought I would get an expert response.

Who wrote this? "Cardboard" is the most generic, wikipedia garbage I could expect. "Almost every 06 i have had" tasted like cardboard? Good job.

F-, would not buy from again.

Oh, and thanks for referencing a blog that uses the word "molassesier".

Then go buy a fucking bottle yourself and drink it. And lick some cardboard if you want to know what cardboard tastes like. Sorry that card board is not descriptive enough for you

I have the 05-08 I would consider trading if someone really wants one or a few of the brew. Obviously the 05 with a higher return trade value. If your interested let me know
