    12/2/2005 vintage vs. 04/1/2011 vintage

Drank both of these with a friend tonight and there was a good difference between them. For starters the 05 was completely flat. It still had a good cherry aroma and a bit of cherry in the flavor but was much more sour than the 2011. The '11 had a much more robust fruit aroma and flavor and was a little easier on the palate along with some carbonation. I preferred the 2011 but my friend said he liked the 2005 better so...:sunglasses:

That's an awesome comparison. Did you order the 2011 online? I haven't seen the kriek on a shelf at all. The oldest I had was a 2006 which was also flat and a real letdown. Fresh sounds amazing!

Somebody traded me the 2011 last year, haven't seen any on shelves either (or 2010 for that matter). I had a 750ml 2006 about six months ago that I also found disappointing.

I often find 3F kriek to be entirely flat, to the point where I'm no longer interested in buying it.

Yeah the only carbonated ones I've had are the ones from the thermostat incident.

I picked up some from 4/1/2011 in 375ml bottles in NJ a couple months back.

Was the 05 flat from the beginning or did it lose its carbonation while aging?

No clue since I never had that vintage fresh. Drank a 2007 last night and it had fizz all the way to the end.
