2005 Pannepot Grand Reserva

    I was wondering how this is drinking and if I should keep aging the one bottle I have left. I had the 2005 when I first saw in in 2012 and just pick some 2009 and really enjoyed both bottles. I am looking for more insight about how it ages since both bottle I have tried have been on the "fresher" side (or at least drank them right when they hit the shelf).

    I just had a 2009, but they might have just hit shelves (if so, that is a pretty ridiculous bottle/barrel aging program that they have going on). It was delicious. Not sure if that helps. 2005 was the first year they did it (bottled in 2007), so congrats on having one of those.

    p.s. I'm actually headed to DE tomorrow.

    I just drank one of my 2009s tonight and it was great, just like all the other Pannepots.

    Funny you should ask. Bought a 2005 tonight, just to test the water, and it wasn't too bad. Poured a muddy brown, with big aromas of raisin, yeast, chocolate, burnt sugar, with woody, vinous, tart, fruity flavours.

    I had an 2005 earlier in the year and it was a bit delicate but absolutely beautiful. Don't think its got much time left before it just collapses.

    The 750ml I opened a year ago was terrible and wasn't finished between 5 people. The 330ml that I opened about 4 months ago was absolutely wonderful and I savoured every drop. I've had this beer numerous times and numerous ages, and 3-4yrs is where I like it for most vintages.
