I have one bottle in my cellar I've been holding off on opening. Has anyone had one recently? And if so, what do they think? I hope I haven't waited too long and it's falling off now.

Have you had a '06 to compare it with? I had a '05 in the past year it was pretty damn good.

A group I was with did an 06-12 vertical over the summer and the consensus seemed to be that it had probably already peaked and started to go downhill. I believe 07 and 08 were the consensus favorites.

I opened a 2007-2012 a couple weeks ago and the 2007 had noticable signs of oxidation. My personal preference from first to last was 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2007.

I had an 07 a couple of months ago and it was very good. For sure a shell of its former self but for me that was fine. To me the consensus is that 5 years is pretty good to keep it around and any older you risk a not so memorable experience. Am I correct in think so? I have an 08-12 vertical going. I have done the 5 year vertical already. I plan to just start drinking the brews up.

I had an '08 a few weeks ago that was absolutely fantastic, I could imagine with another year or two in colder conditions and with some wax, they could last at least 8 years without being adversely affected.

I had '06-'08 a month or two ago and '06 was my personal favorite. Drink it very soon though!
