Anyone had this recently? I perused the reviews briefly, but it's a serious pain in the ass since there's no way of sorting by vintage and I didn't see any 2006 reviews in the first few pages.

A store near me just put some up on the shelf for a fairly extravagant price, but I'd consider it nonetheless if anyone has any (positive) recent experience with it.

How much? If under $10 I would pick them all up. Very tasty beer.

I was actually gonna post a similar thread. Found a local store with about a case each of '07 Mephistopheles and '07 The Beast Grand Cru for about $8/pop.

Yeah, if it was under $10 I would have just pulled the trigger. Unfortunately, they're $17 (and '05 Beast is right there next to it at $14). I'm not as interested in the beast, but I've had '08 Mephistopheles and thought it was quite good, not sure if the '06 is really worth that premium however.

Thats insane! I can't stand putting premiums on aged beers....

$8 is their normal price for any of their Demon series beers. If you haven't tried them before I would give them a shot. Avery is one of the most underrated breweries in the US imo. I would put then in the top 5 with their special releases.

Good call. Not at that price.

What kind of specialty stores are pulling out vintages like that? I feel like every store I go into uses FIFO

The best stores are mountain towns. They bring in a lot for the tourists and never sell a lot of it. I was happy to pick up a 750ml of Consecration for $20. :grinning: No use in letting that tasty beer go to waste.
