Expedition is one of my favorite beers with multiple years on it. I had an '09 recently and loved it. Nice notes of dark fruit had really started to come forwards as the hops have faded off. Man what a great beer.

I still have two or three from 2011 but haven't had any older than that. Could only imagine that if they were stored properly then they will both be great.

I had a few pours from a 2003 bottle of Expedition Stout last night.

I've also had pours from an 02 bottle last year that was phenomenal.

I think aging conditions are the key, but Expedition is one of the rare non-lambic beers that can certainly take a decade of aging and continue to change and evolve.

    Cheers!

So, cracked the '07 and '09 side-by-side...holy shit is the '07 amazing! Both are great, but WOW what age does! The hops have definitely faded in both -- but the '07 is so chocolatey and smooth! I'm throwing a couple sixers into the cellar and forgetting about them...and to think I've been giving out '09's as extras!

Damn...gave my '07 to someone in a BIF. Gonna have to ask JEG how it is (if you know who he is)

I have a 2009 in my cellar, I hear they age well and I'm hoping they do!

This is one of those beers i have been buying to forget i have in the cellar.

I am going to put them in my PARENTS basement, move to another state, and then find them in 20 years.

and sell them all on ebay.

    Profit.

Recently cracked my single '08 Expedition and it was so richly smooth and sublime. Really wishing that I had bought more of it at the time, since I can't get Bell's here in the NY/NJ area.

Oldest I have is Nov. 19th 09 and they are tasting fabulous.

    Would love a sip of a 2007.

    Love me some Bell's Expo.

    Cheers

The only one I have is a 2010. I was thinking of opening it for Xmas, but now I feel like I should wait a few more years. Thanks, man, way to ruin the holidays!

Haha...sorry about that! SAVE it and drink it in a couple years. Seriously, these beers with 3-5 years on them were divine...so good!

This beer is so good at every age. It really improves the most between fresh and 1 year. The progression slows from there, but it still gets better. I try to buy it in cases, and usually at about the 2 year mark, I have a 12 pack left, as it is hard as hell to keep my hands off of those 1-1.5 year bottles, as they drink so nicely
