Funny, infected and quite tasty usually don't go well together, especially for a barleywine. Just checked my notes and noticed I had a 2007 Sisyphus back in 2007. My notes: "Very sweet, actually too sweet." Doesn't sound like it got much better.
All about personal taste. If you like funky beers, you will probably like this. If you don't like funky beers, then likely not. At any rate, it's not terribly sweet at this point.
I opened a 2008 not that long ago and thought it tasted really really good. I gave it a 4.25 on untappd at the time. It really mellowed and come together.
Giving this a thread bump to say I'm drinking an '08 and, eh. But I thought the '09 and '10 were delicious with some age.
