So the other week I had a few coworkers over for a beer tasting… basically needed to clear some space in my fridge since @DavidlovesCBC hit me hard in the Can BIF. One of them brought over a bomber of Sam Adams Chocolate Bock from (we believe) 2008 - when we didn’t have time to open it that night, they just told me to add it to my cellar.

It’s low ABV (5.5%) has me worried that I’ll be opening up sludge, but I was wondering if anyone had tried aging such a low alcohol beer? 7 years is a long time…

I'm curious to see how this turns out. 5.5 is very low for aging. I don't think you'll be drinking pure sludge- but I could be wrong.

Save pics if you can! Cheers.

Instead of sludge, it'll probably be just watery and thin. And oxidized.
