2009 youngs double chocolate stout still good?

    So I just walked out the liquor store and seen that they have youngs double chocolate stout. Not good is it?

    not a beer i would expect to age gracefully, especially in the backroom of a random store. can might be better than bottle, but even still not worth imo.
    unless it were next to free and then i might take a chance.

    you might get some success in the cellaring forum as someone with specific experience may be experimenting with the luxury double.

    I actually had a bottle from late 2009 a month or two ago and it wasn't bad at all!

    It will probably taste bland and have lots of sediment at the bottom.

    I have 4 bottles of GI Honker's Ale from the same year hiding in my closet.

    I bet you could not tell a difference between the ones you bought and the most recently released batch. It is in cans so it has not been light struck or oxidized.
