Hello. I put away 3 bottles of this because I hated it fresh. My memory recalls strong apple flavors when fresh. Am I holding this too long, should I drink now, hold onto them longer (I'm in rush to drink them) ?

    Thanks

I am a huge fan of this beer, both fresh and aged. I recently had a 2009 and that was still good. The bottle recommends aging it a year. I still have yet to find the sweet spot with this beer for me though. Might as well try one out and see what you think. If you like it go for the rest, if not you might wanna think about getting rid of them... If its no good fresh or 3 years old, I don't think it will ever age into something you'll enjoy.

This stuff tastes slightly oxidized to me even while fresh. It makes it a bit of an odd beer to drink fresh.

I had a 2012 just a week or so ago and I thought it was a outstanding. All the flavors were relatively balanced and it didn't taste as boozy as when fresh. I'm on the hunt for another 4 pack to put away.

I have a few bottles of this at various ages, but I haven't done a thorough enough job tasting to draw many conclusions as to this particular beer. However, with some beers 3 years is still far too early to call the question. It is possible OP could dislike it fresh and at 3, but like it at 5 or more.

I had a 2010 last night. Tasted kind of like a fine port wine. Sweet, but not too sweet. And very delicious.
