It was the grayish-black, opaque style bottle, not the one pictured on the review page here at BA.

Saw a bottle on the shelf for $19, wondering how this is/if I should snag it? Never had it in 2011, let alone aged...

    thanks in advance!

Bomber price, puny bottle, decent brew(not excellent imo).
    I'd pass.

I think the beer itself is decent. That said, I wouldn't buy a bottle that's been sitting in a store for 2 years. You don't know under what conditions it was stored. More than likely it's been at room temperature, on a shelf, in some amount of sunlight for that time period. Those aren't ideal storage and aging conditions.

yeah i'm thinking that, cause this place is great for finding stuff that wont stay on shelfs elsewhere. not sure i trust it. it is a bomber, sorry i wasnt clear....i know it's cool to hate rogue, but hey, they been around so long i gotta respect it. i'm a touch bias as i think i first had Rogue around 2004, just a wee lad...plus thier restaurant/brewery has some tasty stuff i was lucky enough to try, right before catching crab off the pier, good times...

So I ran into a store in East St Loius that had 2010 bottles of XS Stout and XS Old Crustacean. I thought I bought 2 of the stouts but one turned out to be an imperial red, that didnt hold up that well over time. When I drank the stout my mind was completely blown. I would have guessed that the beer was barrel aged because of the oaky, smokey flavor it had. It was truly an amazing drinking experience.

Count me as the only one for BUY IT!

I drank my last Old Crustacean last night and that beer was also amazing with 3 years on it. Very sad to see that beer gone
