Utopias is sorta weird in that it's really expensive so it doesn't get traded too much (at least in my experience). $4$ is kinda outrageous, even in locals. I will say, though, that I personally would probably be willing to trade some rarer things I have just to get under the cost of Utopias. Trading $40 worth of rare beer sounds more appealing to me than trading $150-$200 of locals. (Note: I am not trying to be subtle & set up a trade here) Just my $0.02
yeah; I ask because I know where I can get one for retail price. I don't have a ton of awesomely rare stuff to trade, so I was considering picking it up to swap for a few rare bottles that at least came close to $4$. But it's a big (read: expensive) gamble.
I don't think you'd be able to get both rare beers AND $4$. I think you'd either get offers for rare beers or (if you are lucky) $4$ "shelf" beers. Utopias isn't the most common beer out there, but it's not exactly hard to find. If someone wanted it then they would most likely shell out the money to get it. Again, just my $0.02. Other people may have a different idea about it.
Yeah, I agree with Max. I'd love to pick up a bottle or two, and will probably eventually bite the bullet and buy them, but would definitely prefer to trade $40-50 in brewery-only releases and the like for a Utopias. Max and I differ though, in that I am trying to be subtle and set up a trade here...
I think it can get $4$ and rare beers. I traded some bottles of Hunahpus and Eclipse for a bottle, and I traded several bottles of Eclipse for one. So it can be done.
