Hi, Long time reader, first time writer. Big fan of the show.

Anyone think this year's batch of backwoods bastard had a forward coffee flavor and was lacking the toffee / carmel / overall sweetness that was oh-so-wonderful in 2011?

    Or am I crazy?

My 2012 is great. It's what I was expecting based on the 2011 as I remember it.

You are crazy imo. I thought the sweetness of this years was wonderful. This beer is in my top five and I stock up yearly on it. I have attempted to give it age, but find the flavors that are appealing to me in the beer fade away and now drink them as fresh as possible. FYI, anyone in the GR area Twisted Rooster still has this on tap for $8 a pint!!!

In before the hoard of people complaining that someone made a thread about a taste observation (right or wrong) on a beer site.

I loved last year's and this year's but I can't remember with any certainty.
