2012 Bitches Brew

Just opened a '11 at a recent bottle share and it was fantastic! Had the '12 and it was good, however I like it better with age.

 

14.99 on Cape Cod

 

Is this a hard to get bottle? I was able to snag the last two bottles at my local Total Wine for $10.99.

 

Just drank a 2010 the other day. Drinking quite nicely, but I didn't think the 2 years had resulted in any significant improvement or change. I don't plan to cellar any more of these.

 

I agree. I managed to get 4 bottles at different places last week

 

I would imagine it's kind of like the Punkin Ale, they'll get a shipment of it and it'll be on the shelves for a couple of weeks. But then when it's gone people will suddenly want it. It's definitely not a day of release. This seems to be the case with the last couple of DFH brews that have made it here, including the 120min. A bunch of places still have those.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic. There are only 3 or 4 DFH brews that i've been slightly impressed with. Everyone has different tastes.

Yeah but some people just automatically hate everything they make. I don't know what it is about them that makes people hate so hard, maybe its because they are one of the largest, most successful craft breweries in the US (#11 brewery in America, thats including the macro guys)

 

I don't hate them, i'm just not keen on their brews. I use the word "over hyped" with DFH sometimes but that might be a little bit of an exaggeration considering the work Sam puts into designing the beers.

 

Just tell us - despite the drainpour, did you notice a marked improvement in tartar control as well?

Oh I wasn't saying you were hating DFH. You are just obviously not into their brews. I was just saying that some people, like that other guy saying Bitches Brew tasted like mint (?), will automatically hate all DFH beers just to be different. Some of their stuff does get a little over hyped but us beer types do that with stuff a lot. I mean Cantillon is great, they make awesome lambics, but they get a bit over hyped as well. It happens.

 

Lemon? Mint? What the heck are you guys drinking?
