Just wanted to say that I purchased a couple bottles of this yesterday. I drank one and held on to one for my vertical I plan on having some day (I have 2010, 2011, and 2012). The one I drank last night was CARBONATED! The best Angel's Share I've had from the bottle to date. I love Angel's Share even when it is not carbonated, but this year's is carbonated and made my tastebuds dance. Just lettin ya'll know. Cheers!

Just don't expect '08 or '09 to be carbed.... Although they were really tasty blended with some Jester King Black Metal.

Just had a bottle this evening - calling it carbonated is, I suppose, accurate if comparing it to past iterations of Angel's Share, but I'd call it "tingly" at best. I can only imagine further aging will bring out the Flat Abbey we know and love.

How exactly will aging a beer decrease carbonation? Through the cork?

If that's the case, a quick wax dip should solve your problems.

How can I tell the difference on store shelves between 2011 and 2012?

There should be a date stamp on the newer bottles. I just got a Mo' Betta Bretta a few days ago and it's date stamped in orange ink.

I have had 3. 2012 AS and all 3 perfectly carbonated. I hope they got it figured out.

Their QC since adding Gwen has been great... She runs a tight ship and updated/improved processes from day 1. The benefactors are obviously the customers and this bodes well for the future.

not doubting you at all but there's been enough shit about Lost Abbey having carbonation issues that every little bit helps to bring their rep back to where it used to be.
