Sorry if this topic has been discussed already in here, I'll be the first to admit I don't scroll the cellaring forums all too often.

But, we all know the flack that 2012 Dark Lord got for being notoriously worse then previous batches. However, has anyone had this recently? Just curious how its tasting now a days after being aged a year.

I had one about a week ago. It's still really sweet. I did not really care for fresh DL, it was diabetes is a bottle, I had another bottle after 7 months age and still cloyingly sweet. Then recently had a bottle and it was still really sweet. Granted a bit little less sweet than fresh or at 7 months but still too sweet for my taste. I like DL after 2+ years. For me it needs that long to loose the cavity inducing sweetness.

I cracked one last week and God, its fucking terrible. Like someone took 22 oz of soy sauce and then mixed in copious amounts of brown sugar...just really not enjoyable. My buddy and I couldn't even get through half a bottle...drained.

I have yet to taste it since it was fresh...I'm really hoping 2-3 years in the cellar will tone down that sweetness...because that first bottle was nothing short of offensive to me.
